Who We Are

We have been lifting the shadow of hunger, hardship and hopelessness for over 46 years!

The Committee on Church Cooperation was started in 1973 as a way for churches to pool resources and more effectively meet the basic needs of struggling area residents. It has since expanded from a Clothing Closet in a church basement to 11 diverse ministries housed in a 10,000 square-foot building. The CCC contributes approximately $2 million worth of services, annually, to the Morgan County, Alabama community.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit, our organization receives and processes donations for our clients’ use in addition to counseling them about other resources to encourage self-sufficiency.

All services are provided at no cost to our clients. We are solely dependent upon the generosity of local churches, businesses, service organizations, individual donors and selfless volunteers.

Won’t you join us in lifting shadows? Please donate your time, talent, goods or financial blessings.

You, too, can be a #CCCshadowlifter!

What Our Friends Are Saying

The Committee on Church Corporation does so many wonderful things for our community. Not only do they reach out and help take care of the “least of these by providing needed essentials, they help our GED program by providing food and volunteers to the participants who have decided to change the circumstances of their lives by getting a GED. When society may have given up on people, the Committee on Church Corporations steps in to provide a hand up.

We, at Intentional Faith, feel honored and blessed to be a part of the incredible, God-ordained work being performed by the CCC. The services that this organization provides to Decatur and Morgan County are invaluable. We have witnessed, first-hand, the positive impact the CCC has on individuals' lives and the overall community.

CCC has been a blessing to me and my family. Without them, I would never have had the chance to go get my GED. They’ve also fed me and my family when we didn’t have anything at home to eat.

CCC is one of the most loving nonprofit organizations. They find ways to meet the needs of so many in our community. It is a small staff of hardworking folks who make miracles with God’s help every week.

For years, I donated to the CCC but, when I started volunteering with the Clothing Closet ministry here, I was much enlightened and pleased to discover the depth of services offered and the extent of assistance given by them to the community.

CCC cares about the people they serve. They cared for me! Now I’m self-sufficient and I can say, ‘I’m not on ANY assistance.

I see all the good we do here. It’s a wonderful place! If people come see what we do here, they would be very impressed at all the help we provide to the needy.

The VisionForward program is awesome! Some of the students come to class hungry, but when they go to lunch, they get physical AND spiritual food. It’s helping people by giving them ambition to do something with their life.
